Terms & Conditions
The terms you agree to when you order embroidery, printing or garments from Threads Embroidery & Print Ltd. Written in plain English, because nobody should need a solicitor to buy polo shirts.
1. Placing an order
A quote is an invitation to order, not a contract. The contract forms when we send you an order confirmation, or when your online order is confirmed and paid for.
Please check your confirmation carefully. Garments, colours, sizes, quantities and decoration positions are produced exactly as they appear on it.
We may decline an order, for example if the garments are unavailable from our supplier, if the artwork cannot be reproduced at the size requested, or if we cannot reasonably produce the design. If we have already taken payment for an order we cannot fulfil, we refund it in full.
2. Prices and VAT
Prices on the website are for the garment and the decoration described, and are shown per item. Any additional decoration position, setup or digitising charge is shown in your basket before you pay, so the basket total is the total.
VAT is applied per product at checkout at the rate that applies to that item. Some children's garments are zero rated for VAT, so a school order can correctly show different rates on different lines.
We may change published prices at any time, but never on an order we have already confirmed.
3. Payment
Online orders are paid in full at checkout. Card payments are handled by Stripe. We never see or store your full card details.
Where we have agreed an account or invoice arrangement for a business, school or club, the terms on that invoice apply. Work does not go into production until the agreed payment or deposit has cleared.
4. Artwork, approval and intellectual property
By sending us a logo, a name, a badge or any other artwork you confirm that you own it or have permission to use it, and that reproducing it on garments does not infringe anyone else's rights. You agree to cover us for any claim that arises if that turns out not to be the case.
We will show you the design before production. Once you approve it, that approved design is what gets made, including any spelling, sizing or positioning it contains.
Your artwork remains yours. Any digitised embroidery file or print separation we create from it remains ours, and we keep it so repeat orders match. You are welcome to ask us for a copy.
We may show finished work as examples of what we do. Tell us if you would rather we did not use yours, and we will not.
5. Production and turnaround
Typical turnaround is 10 to 14 working days from the point your artwork is approved and payment is received. That is a working estimate, not a guarantee, and it does not include delivery time.
If you have a fixed deadline, tell us before you order so we can confirm whether it is achievable. We are not responsible for delays caused by supplier stock shortages, courier problems or anything else outside our reasonable control, but we will always keep you informed and offer alternatives where we can.
6. Delivery
We deliver across the UK. Delivery is free on orders over £150. Below that, the delivery charge is shown at checkout.
Please give an address where someone can receive the parcel. If a delivery fails because the address was wrong or nobody was available, any redelivery cost is yours.
Check your order when it arrives and tell us about any shortage or damage within 14 days so we can put it right quickly.
7. Colour, sizing and finish
Garment colours on screen are a guide. Shades can vary slightly between production batches at the mill, and between what a screen shows and what arrives. Thread and print colours are matched as closely as the available thread and ink ranges allow, and an exact match to a brand reference cannot always be guaranteed.
Sizes vary between manufacturers. Please use the size guide on the product page before ordering. If you are unsure, ask us first.
8. Returns and cancellation
Decorated and personalised garments are made to your specification and cannot be returned because you have changed your mind. Blank items, faults and mistakes on our side are covered in full in our Returns Policy, which forms part of these terms.
9. Accounts and the website
If you create an account, keep your password to yourself and tell us if you think someone else has it. You are responsible for orders placed through your account.
The design, text, photography and code on this website belong to us or our suppliers and may not be copied for commercial use. We work to keep the site accurate and available, but we cannot promise it will be uninterrupted or error free.
How we handle your personal information is set out in our Privacy Policy.
10. Our responsibility to you
If we fail to meet these terms we are responsible for loss you suffer that is a foreseeable result of that failure. We are not responsible for indirect or consequential loss, such as lost profit, lost business or the cost of an event you were preparing for.
Except where the law says otherwise, our total liability for any order is limited to the value of that order.
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law. If you are a consumer, your statutory rights are not affected.
11. Changes and governing law
We may update these terms. The version published when you place your order is the one that applies to it.
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction.
